Fully agree… V1 and V2 have been exceptionally easy to let me focus on my apps logic. I can’t say the same for next versions 
In the beginning I had the same opinion.
But a little later it V5 turned out to be also simple and nice , fast and easy.
The only drawback is that it supports android 7.0 and later.
As it turned out, many more people use Android 6.0.
