Windows installation

Hi, looked through the forums, but couldn’t find any solution for me, so here we go…

I’m running a Windows 10 x64 and trying to install and run the F7’s + Vue Kitchensink, but can’t, for the life of me, get it to build or anything. Followed every step from the tutorial, installed a zillion different things that npm kept reporting, etc etc etc…also tried this on a command line with admin rights and Windows’ Power Shell…and still nothing…

Tried a virtual machine with Ubuntu and got everything up and running in 5 mins, but no luck on my Win10. A huge problem with that is that since it’s a VM everything is running real slow so it’s not even close to a comfortable environment, otherwise I would just use that.

Anyways, I’m currently stuck at this…
(from the Powershell, although I get the exact same output from the cmd)

Any help would be veeeeery much appreciated, I’ve already spent a few days trying to get this to work.

Try not using a sub-folder with a space in it (framework7 kitchensink). Maybe use a hyphen or underscore instead of the space.

still no luck :sweat:

I have quite a similar problem, also Win10, latest framework7 master, latest node.js v14. It’s a bit disappointing if the default example doesn’t build…

I followed the instructions from Kitchen Sink | Framework7 Documentation

Result:

Seems like the gulp scripts are linux only, e.g. build-clean.js uses “xargs” command that windows doesn’t have.

Is framework7 not buildable on Windows?

How does the Windows Subsystem for Linux perform? Should be speedier than a VirtualBoxed full install.

@nolimits4web

can you help us fix this problem

big thanks

I am getting the same error on Windows 11. I think the documentation page Kitchen Sink | Framework7 Documentation should mention this so the windows users can skip this package if it is a Unix only build.
